My dad’s old pickup

After almost a year of sitting unused in our driveway, I put the insurance back on the old F-250 my dad gave me and took it out for a bit of a spin to fill up the tanks. Both mufflers have come apart from the exhaust system, so it makes one heck of a ruckus. If I’m successful in getting out my car lease, this truck will become my daily driver again. So, I’m gradually starting to look into getting the major defects corrected. Besides the exhaust, the back of the box has rusted through enough to let the the rear quarter panels collapse a few inches. I don’t want to drive it too much or put a load in it until these things are fixed. There’s a bunch of minor annoyances too, but these can be fixed gradually on weekends.

All things considered, my dad and I took pretty good care of it along the way, so it has potential. I really want to build it into something really cool, but that probably won’t happen until our baby is old enough to help me out. I really hope he/she has a bit of a gearhead streak like his/her old man.

In other news, Beta’s been making gross hoarking noises ever since I got home today. The remnants of a plastic bag I found in the living room might have something to do with it. Silly dog.
