Claire and I visited our midwife yesterday afternoon, for the routine checkup, and for a shot of antibodies, just in case the baby has a positive blood type. It’s the third trimester, so the check-ups will be every two weeks now.
During the exam, the midwife found the baby’s head by feeling Claire’s tummy. She showed me where to press so I could feel it too. I’ve been reluctant so far to press Claire’s belly so firmly, but I felt better about it with professional supervision. The baby’s head is still pretty small – it felt like it was about the size of a large plum. I’ll keep encouraging Claire to eat eggs so that it grows to a good size, though.
