Claire’s been following that weight-loss competition on TV, “The Biggest Loser”. My home office setup is in the living room, so I’ve kind of had to watch it too.
Anyway, every time the competitors step on the scale, there’s this beeping sound effect as the weight measurement “stabilizes”. It reminds me of the microwave chime, and makes me hungry. I guess I’ve been conditioned to expect my Pizza Pop is ready when I hear it.
I wonder if portly folk worldwide, eagerly watching this show for inspiration in their quest for thinness, are actually succumbing to an irrestible urge to snack because of that beeping scale?
I’m going to watch the show’s advertising more closely now to sleuth out if it’s an evil marketing plot…

Hah!! I’ve thought the exact same thing about the beep beep! And I’ve learned that the ‘beep’ is fake! (It doesn’t actually beep when they step on the scale, they add it later. PLUS That beeping weigh in is totally fake, they get weighed at a prior time apparently!)
PS. I know this entry is a year old.. I’m not your stalker I promise. Just bored at work lol!
